Cebgo to absorb AirSWIFT operations from early 3Q26

Cebgo (DG, Manila Ninoy Aquino International) will fully take over the operations of AirSWIFT (T6, Manila Ninoy Aquino International), leading to the retirement of the boutique carrier's brand from July 1, 2026, parent company Cebu Pacific Air (5J, Manila Ninoy Aquino International) announced in an...

Cebgo (DG, Manila Ninoy Aquino International) will fully take over the operations of AirSWIFT (T6, Manila Ninoy Aquino International), leading to the retirement of the boutique carrier's brand from July 1, 2026, parent company Cebu Pacific Air (5J, Manila Ninoy Aquino International) announced in an advisory. The three ATR72-600s operated by AirSWIFT will be transferred to Cebgo, while the two ATR42-600s are slated for sale, the airline confirmed exclusively to ch-aviation.

The carrier will transfer all flights currently operated under AirSWIFT's 'T6' code to Cebgo's 'DG'. The low-cost carrier said the transition will have no impact on operations and that flights will continue to operate as scheduled.

"The AirSWIFT brand will no longer be used for commercial flying operations. The current livery will stay until the next opportune time for change," a Cebu Pacific representative said.

AirSWIFT's current network covers six destinations: Busuanga, Caticlan, Cebu, Panglao, El Nido and Angeles City Clark International. Some of these routes, however, have been gradually transferred to Cebgo since Cebu Pacific's acquisition of the boutique carrier in 2024.

The airline added that it is in discussions with the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines regarding the fate of the air operator's certificate of AirSWIFT, as the two ATR42-600s remain under that certificate pending disposal.

In January 2026, ch-aviation reported that Cebu Pacific was reviewing the future of its ATR42 fleet, citing the better economics of the larger ATR72 variant.

AirSWIFT currently operates two ATR42-600s: RP-C4202 (msn 1205), inactive since January 2025, and RP-C4203 (msn 1208). It also operates three ATR72-600s: RP-C7201 (msn 1440), RP-C7202 (msn 1492), and RP-C7203 (msn 1675).

Cebu Pacific acquired a 100% stake in AirSWIFT in October 2024 after signing a share purchase agreement with Ayala Land, Inc. subsidiary ALI Capital Corp. for PHP1.75 billion Philippine pesos (USD29 million). Meanwhile, Cebgo became a subsidiary of Cebu Pacific when it acquired then-Tigerair Philippines in 2014.

AirBorneo (MY, Kuching) is reviewing its maintenance and parts-supply arrangements, and plans to engage additional and alternative partners to secure faster access to critical components following recent service disruptions across its network. The carrier said it is working to expedite maintenance and restore normal operations.

Per ch-aviation data, AirBorneo's MRO providers include Firefly Maintenance and Repair Organisation and MAB Engineering.

The airline has faced scrutiny over cancellations and delays after taking over the operations of MASwings in January 2026. The Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia has reminded the carrier of its obligation to minimise passenger disruption.

Flexjet (LXJ, Cleveland Cuyahoga Country) has acquired London-based aircraft brokerage and advisory firm The Jet Business. The deal introduces a new offering, Flexjet Solutions, providing The Jet Business clients with access to the broader Flexjet ecosystem, including operational support, pre-purchase inspections, maintenance infrastructure, AOG response resources, and aircraft management services. The Jet Business will further support Flexjet's aircraft acquisitions, retirements, and long-term fleet strategy.

“This acquisition strengthens our platform to move ageing aircraft gracefully out of the fleet, while introducing next-generation aircraft into service for our fractional owners,” said Flexjet chairman Kenn Ricci. The Jet Business founder Steve Varsano, widely known for his social media presence, has been appointed president of Flexjet. Flexjet's FXSolutions aircraft brokerage arm will operate alongside The Jet Business, though the two will remain separate brands.

Nigeria suspends operator's permit over CL60 road landing

The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority has suspended the permit for non-commercial flights of an unnamed operator after a United States-registered Challenger 601-3A landed on an under-construction public road near Asaba on June 10.

Although the company whose permit has been suspended has not been disclosed, ch-aviation research shows the aircraft appears on the website and social media channels of VMO Aero (Lagos).

The 1988-built jet, N989BC (msn 5021), departed Lagos early on June 10 for Asaba. After a missed approach, the aircraft landed on an unfinished public road nearby. The NCAA statement confirms all occupants exited safely and continued to Asaba by road. Four crew members were also on board.

A few hours later, the aircraft departed for Lagos without approval. Air traffic control was informed after departure. On arrival in Lagos, the aircraft was grounded pending the outcome of NCAA investigations, and the crew has been placed under regulatory review.

The NCAA formally notified the Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB) and is coordinating with the relevant stakeholders, including the operator and the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency, to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.

As part of the investigation, all operational, airworthiness, maintenance, and flight records will be reviewed. The authority will take further enforcement action in accordance with the applicable aviation regulations.

The Challenger 601-3A appears on VMO Aero's website and social media channels. The aircraft management and executive charter specialist lists a fleet that includes Embraer Executive Jets, Gulfstream Aerospace, and Hawker Beechcraft jets, alongside rotary-wing assets.

ch-aviation confirms that VMO Aero manages at least another US-registered aircraft, a 1990-built GIV added in early 2025.

ch-aviation contacted the NCAA and VMO Aero for further clarification.
