Nigerian CAA lifts Xejet suspension
08.09.2023 - 10:27 UTCXejet (Lagos) has confirmed the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has reinstated its permits after regulatory issues relating to insurance compliance were cleared.
"The suspension has been lifted by the NCAA after a thorough investigation, and we are back in full operation. As of September 6, 2023, we have been granted clearance to resume flying with both our air transport license (ATL) and air operator's certificate (AOC) fully intact," the airline said in a statement. It stressed that its AOC was never revoked but suspended pending the airline's response to a query from the NCAA.
This was confirmed in an NCAA letter to Xejet cited by The Nation Online news site. "Further to the NCAA's letter on the above subject matter referenced NCAA/DGCA/GC/8/16/628 and dated August 30, 2023, the authority hereby lifts the suspension on your ATL and AOC after considering your submissions," writes NCAA director-general Musa Nuhu.

Nigerian regulator grounds Xejet over insurance documents
01.09.2023 - 09:09 UTCXejet (Lagos) has confirmed the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority has suspended its air transport license (ATL) and air operator's certificate (AOC) after querying the authenticity of insurance documents of an E145.
Chief Executive Officer Emmanuel Iza confirmed to ch-aviation: "We received a letter last night from the NCAA suspending our ATL and AOC because the insurance certificate belonging to one of the managed aircraft under our AOC could not be verified by the insurance company."
"We have engaged the NCAA the whole of today [August 31], providing them with all the necessary evidence of compliance. I am sure the suspension will be lifted in the next day or so." He said the aircraft in question was the EMB-145LR, 5N-BZM (msn 14500842), which Xejet had sold late last year to Kanem Air (Maiduguri). "They don’t have an AOC yet. So we are keeping it on our AOC until their AOC is ready," he explained.
