Rossiya (FV, St. Petersburg) has secured fifteen SSJ 100/95s for delivery by the end of the year after it signed commitments with both Promsvyazbank and Irkut during the ongoing MAKS 2021 International Aviation and Space Salon in Moscow.

Under the terms of the deal, PSB Leasing will purchase the 15 jets from Irkut Corporation for onward placement with Rossiya Airlines. The first three will arrive in August.

All 15 jets will feature a 100-seat, all-economy-class layout. They will be deployed to the Aeroflot Group subsidiary's St. Petersburg and Moscow Sheremetyevo bases for use in serving Russian domestic sectors.

Rossiya is in the process of absorbing all of Aeroflot's fleet of 49 SSJ 100/95Bs, of which 33 have so far been delivered and are in service. However, unlike the incoming batch, these jets feature 75 economy and 12 premium class seats.

"These airliners will contribute to solving one of the most important challenges we face - the development of a network of affordable regional flights throughout our country," Rossiya Airlines CEO Sergey Aleksandrovsky said in a statement. "During their six months of operations with Rossiya, the Superjet 100s have performed almost 11,000 flights and carried more than 700,000 passengers."

Rossiya also operates twenty A319-100s, five A320-200s, eleven B737-800s, nine B747-400s, five B737-300s, and five B777-300(ER)s. The carrier also plans to induct fifty MC-21-300s with the first six due to deliver by the Summer 2022 season.
