Canada's Chrono Aviation begins B737-800(SF) operations
18.02.2022 - 15:17 UTCChrono Aviation (NDL, Québec) began B737-800(SF) operations on February 15, 2022, when C-GVZB (msn 32799) operated its first flight from its base at Winnipeg Int'l to Iqaluit, slightly behind the original January 2022 schedule.
The converted freighter is dry-leased from Kelowna Flightcraft (KW, Kelowna) but operated by Chrono Aviation's technical subsidiary, Chrono Jet (MB, Québec).
The 18-year-old ex-Miami Air International (LL, Miami Int'l) jet is the first of two B737-800(SF)s that Chrono Aviation plans to induct this year. The other, C-GCAI (msn 30478), was registered by the airline in November 2021 but has yet to undergo P2F conversion. It remains in storage at Blytheville airport, the ch-aviation fleets advanced module shows.
Chrono Aviation and Chrono Jet also operate seven PC-12s, one DHC-8-100, two B737-200s, one B737-200(C), and two Beech 1900Ds.
Canada's Chrono Jet adds first B737-800
12.11.2021 - 18:48 UTCChrono Jet (MB, Québec) registered its first B737-800 in the form of C-GCAI (msn 30478) on November 2, 2021, ch-aviation research has revealed.
The 20.1-year-old Boeing aircraft was previously owned by Carlyle Aviation Partners but was bought by Chrono Jet. Last operated by Aerolíneas Argentinas through March 2020, it was ferried to Blytheville in January 2021 and remains parked at the Arkansas airport, Flightradar24 ASD-B data shows.
The jet will join Chrono Jet's existing B737 fleet of two B737-200s and one B737-200(C). It is the second time the airline has attempted to induct a B737NG - its first venture into that type, in April 2021, ended with the aircraft being transferred to Nolinor Aviation (N5, Montréal Trudeau) for OWG (Canada) operations. It never operated for Chrono Jet. Chrono Jet did not respond to ch-aviation's question regarding the B737-800 plans, while Nolinor Aviation denied having any relationship with Chrono Jet.

16.04.2021 - 21:44 UTCChrono Jet (MB, Québec) took delivery of its first B737-800 in the form of C-FMBO (msn 30631), although the 19.3-year-old narrowbody has yet to be ferried to Canada.
The aircraft was last operated by Air Transat (TS, Montréal Trudeau) through March 2020, at that time under a dry-lease from Carlyle Aviation Partners. It was retired as the first wave of the COVID-19 pandemic hit North America. Following a period of storage at Montréal Trudeau and Toronto Pearson, Air Transat ferried it for storage in Marana on September 24, 2020, Flightradar24 ADS-B data shows. It remains at the American airport for the time being, although it was registered in Canada on April 13, 2021.
Chrono Jet, a passenger charter specialist, operates two B737-200s, one B737-200(C), and one Dash 8-100. Its parent Chrono Aviation (NDL, Québec) operates the group's smaller aircraft, including eight PC-12s, two Beech 1900Ds, and a single Beech (twin turboprop) King Air 300.
