German Airways repossesses E190 from EGO Airways
03.01.2022 - 20:16 UTCGerman Airways (ZQ, Cologne/Bonn) has decided to terminate the sub-dry-lease of its E190 to Italy's EGO Airways (E3, Milan Malpensa) after "several months of differing views on the interpretation of the contract".
I-EGOA (msn 19000165) was ferried from Parma to Cologne/Bonn on December 29, 2021, Flightradar24 ADS-B data shows. As the Embraer regional jet owned by Azorra Aviation was EGO Airways' sole aircraft, the Italian carrier no longer has any aircraft. Inactive since mid-September 2021, it has since tried to briefly resume operations in cooperation with Lumiwings (L9, Forli) by jointly selling tickets for the Greek carrier's domestic Italian services. Its earlier plans to resume in-house operations on December 1 never materialised.
EGO Airways no longer files any schedules, and it is not clear if and when it plans to restart with other aircraft. The airline did not respond to ch-aviation's request for comment.
