Aeroméxico (AM, México City International) has signed an incremental order for nine B737 MAX from Air Lease Corporation with deliveries due to begin in July 2022 and conclude by August 2023.

The commitment comprises two B737-8s and seven B737-9s all of which will come from ALC's Boeing order book.

Aeroméxico's B737 MAX fleet currently includes twenty-five -8s and seven -9s, the ch-aviation fleets module shows. It has a further one -8 and five -9s due from Boeing, after it had trimmed 34 units from its direct order in May 2021. The airline has another six -8s and three -9s due from lessors, including ALC and DAE Capital.

ALC already leases one B737-9, one B737-800, and four B787-9s to the Mexican flag carrier.

The carrier's parent, Grupo Aeroméxico, which recently exited Chapter 11 proceedings, has said it would heavily invest in fleet growth in the coming months and years.
