Scotland's Loch Lomond Seaplanes to enter English market
25.03.2016 - 01:23 UTCScottish operator Loch Lomond Seaplanes is expanding into the English market with the upcoming launch of scheduled seaplane flights between Osea Island, a 400-acre private island located off the coast of Essex, and an undisclosed general aviation airport in London.
The flights, which will ferry guests from London to Osea Island, are set to begin in May and will run through to September. In addition, Loch Lomond Seaplanes is also planning to offer charter flights from the London area to the Scottish West Coast.
Founded in 2003, Loch Lomond Seaplanes operates a pair of Cessna (single turboprop) 208 Caravan Seaplanes on sightseeing and charter flights around Scotland, as well as regular flights between Loch Lomond and Isle of Skye (Broadford) Airfield.
Cardiff business group studying possible Welsh seaplane venture
26.03.2015 - 08:44 UTCViking Air (VKN, Victoria Int'l) could supply the Cardiff Business Council (CBC) with DHC-6-400 Seaplanes should a planned new Welsh business venture which aims to connect the capital, Cardiff, with the rest of the country and London, take off.
In its proposal, the CBC said it would operate flights from Cardiff Bay to Swansea Bay while services to the north of the country would operate via Llyn Tegid (Lake Bala) and Lake Vyrnwy in Powys. The CBC has also held talks with London City Airport over the possibility of using nearby docks for business-oriented flights.
The project's chief proponent and chairman of the CBC, Nigel Roberts, says that while talks have already taken place with a Canadian operator, the proposal is open to investment from operators around the world.

29.09.2007 - 10:03 UTCLoch Lomond Seaplanes has launched scheduled services between Glasgow and Oban. The services are operated by Cessna Caravan seaplanes departing and arriving from River Clyde. The carrier is planning to add additional services to more communities at a later stage.
