Dash Air Shuttle (Port Angeles) has announced that it will begin operating scheduled flights between Seattle Tacoma International and Port Angeles on August 11, 2022.

The virtual carrier will operate the route 25x weekly (up to 4x daily) but plans to grow the frequency to 6x daily as demand picks up. Flights will be operated by Backcountry Aviation (SQH, Salem, OR) using a Cessna (twin piston) C402 aircraft. Dash Air Shuttle has dry-leased three aircraft of the type and will be sub-leasing them to Backcountry Aviation, a Part 135 passenger charter specialist with an in-house fleet of Cessna T303 Crusaders.

Dash Air Shuttle's launch has been delayed by more than half a year - the virtual carrier originally hoped to begin operations in late 2021.

The carrier is considering applying for its own Air Operator's Certificate in the future, its president, Clinton Ostler, told ch-aviation. "Right now we’re very focused on getting established and will be leveraging our partnership with Backcountry Aviation," he added.

Ostler had previously outlined plans to certify Dash Air Shuttle by the end of 2022.
