Aerolíneas Argentinas (AR, Buenos Aires Jorge Newbery) has issued a tender for the acquisition of two B737-800(BCF)s on six-year operating leases.

A Request For Proposals (RFP) that was addressed to all lessors, commercial banks, and financial institutions said only that the ideal aircraft should feature CFM 56-7B26 engines among other relatively standard requirements.

The state-owned carrier gave no indication as to when the contracts would commence but noted they should be benchmarked in US dollars. The tender is not open to brokers or intermediaries.

Submissions can be in English or Spanish and must be entered by 2359L (0259+1Z) on August 10, 2022.

Aerolíneas does not currently operate any dedicated freighters although it did operate a single B737-300(F) between September 2005 and September 2006, the ch-aviation fleets history module shows. In terms of its passenger fleet, the airline operates twenty-nine B737-800s the bulk of which are CFM56-7B26-powered, although one is CFM56-7B26/3-powered while seven use CFM56-7B26Es.
