Korean Air (KE, Seoul Incheon) is planning to launch revenue operations with its first A321-200NX on December 1, 2022, deploying the aircraft on the domestic trunk route connecting Seoul Gimpo and Jeju.

The ch-aviation schedules module shows the airline will operate the route with the A321neo 4x daily.

The carrier's first A321-200NX, HL8505 (msn 10977), has already been built and painted in its livery but has yet to be delivered to South Korea. Korean Air has ordered thirty A321-200NX directly from Airbus. It will be the first Airbus narrowbody type in Korean Air's fleet.

While inducting a new type on the Seoul-Jeju route is standard practice for most South Korean carriers, Korean Air plans to eventually deploy the two-class A321-200NX on medium-haul routes within Asia. The ch-aviation fleets module shows that the carrier's narrowbody fleet also comprises five B737-8s (25 more on order, including units potentially to be operated by low-cost carrier subsidiary Jin Air), two B737-800s, ten B737-900s, and six B737-900ERs.
