Eurowings Europe (Malta) (E6, Malta International) obtained its Air Operator's Certificate and Operating Licence from Transport Malta on October 13, 2022, and is due to start absorbing aircraft from Eurowings Europe (Austria) (E2, Vienna).

In addition, the economic and regulatory environment in Malta will enable us to enter new markets as an attractive value airline and to thrive in our highly competitive environment. Above all, this means new perspectives for the entire Eurowings Europe team," Managing Director Stefan Beveridge said.
The ch-aviation fleets module shows that Eurowings Europe currently operates seven A319-100s and thirteen A320-200s, and plans to transfer all of them from the German and Austrian registers to the Maltese one by the end of April 2023. The aircraft will remain based at their current airports and will continue operating exclusively under the code of parent company Eurowings (EW, Düsseldorf). The first aircraft to be registered in Malta will be A320-200 D-ABPD (msn 3093), which will become 9H-EUL.
The Maltese unit will be managed by a local team from Malta. However, employees of Eurowings Europe (Austria) will remain stationed at the same bases as their contracts are moved to the new entity. Eurowings Europe (Malta)'s first flight is scheduled for November 3, 2022.
Eurowings has thus joined other European low-cost carriers to establish a unit in Malta, including Ryanair Holdings (with Malta Air (MAY, Malta International) and Lauda Europe (LW, Malta International)) and Wizz Air Holdings (with Wizz Air Malta (W4, Malta International)).
