Colombia's Satena retires its only E170
15.12.2022 - 15:01 UTCSatena (9R, Bogotá) has retired its last remaining ERJ 170-100LR and sold it in a transaction arranged by Airstream International Group to BeauTech Power Systems.
HK-4528 (msn 17000151) had been inactive since February 2020 and remained in storage in Colombia, awaiting further decisions. The state-owned carrier appointed Airstream to sell the regional jet in March 2022, having decided that the E170 was not appropriate for its future network plans. The aircraft was ferried to Tucson International on November 3, Flightradar24 ADS-B data shows.
Following the sale of the E170, Satena's fleet comprises four ATR42-500s, three ATR42-600s, two ATR72-600s, and two E145s. The airline recently announced vague plans for adding narrowbody jets as the current Colombian government envisages a more important role for Satena on the country's competitive domestic market.
