Binter Canarias (NT, Gran Canaria) has confirmed that it was behind the recently announced order for five E195-E2s attributed to an undisclosed customer.
The Spanish regional specialist has thus doubled its E2 order book having ordered five E195-E2s from Embraer in October 2018 (initially split into three firm orders and two purchase rights), and taking delivery of the first one in December 2019 as the type's European launch operator. All five have already been delivered to the carrier. Two of the incremental E2s are scheduled to arrive in November 2023, a further two in December 2023, and the fifth in April 2024.
Besides the E195-E2s, Binter Canarias also operates five ATR72-500s and twenty-one ATR72-600s (of which 12 are operated by technical subsidiary Canair (RSC, Gran Canaria)). The airline has one more -600 on firm order from ATR - Avions de Transport Régional.
