Tradewind Aviation (TJ, Oxford, CT) has taken delivery of its first PC-12 NGX, N202TW (msn 2202), marking the first of twenty of the type to be delivered from Pilatus Aircraft (PCH, Buochs) to the Connecticut airline over the next five years.
The order will make Tradewind Aviation one of the largest operators of PC-12s for private charter, co-founder and Chief Marketing Officer David Zipkin said in a statement. He said the new aircraft would further expand the carrier's ability to grow its private charter options throughout North America and the remote islands of the Caribbean and improve its product. "The PC-12 NGX provides the perfect balance of efficiency, comfort, and superior performance for shorter flights and hard-to-reach destinations, allowing our clients to save precious time and focus on what's most important to them.
Tradewind Aviation's fleet has grown to 23 aircraft. "The continued investment in, and expansion of, our Pilatus fleet is evidence of Tradewind's continued growth and increased demand for private charter," added co-founder and President Eric Zipkin.
The aircraft order was announced in March 2022, expanding the carrier's PC-12 fleet to thirty-eight. Deliveries are scheduled at a rate of three to four aircraft per year over the next five years.
According to the company website, Tradewind Aviation also operates Cessna Aircraft Company Citation CJ3s, and can source mid-size and larger-size jets on the ad-hoc charter side of the business.
