Panama's Uniworld Air Cargo eyes B737 transition
20.07.2023 - 18:32 UTCUniworld Air Cargo (U7, Panamá City Tocumen International) is planning to transition to B737 Classic freighters starting this year, having recently restarted in-house operations with a newly-acquired B727-200(F), Cargo Facts has reported.
The Panamanian cargo specialist was dormant between September 2022 and May 2023, as its then only B727-200(F), HP-1937UCG (msn 21345), was grounded at San Bernardino for maintenance. The airline inducted HP-1939UCG (msn 22552) on May 24, 2023, and has since been using it mainly for flights between Panamá City Tocumen International and various destinations in Venezuela. The airline also operates ad-hoc charters to other regional destinations in South and Central America.
The B737 transition is aimed not just at renewing Uniworld's fleet, but also at growth.
Management was not immediately available for added comment.
Panama's Uniworld Air Cargo adds maiden B727 freighter
19.04.2017 - 01:06 UTCUniworld Air Cargo (U7, Panamá City Tocumen International) has taken delivery of its maiden B727 freighter Skyliner Aviation has reported. Formerly N287SC (msn 21345) with Capital Cargo International Airlines (Orlando International), the B727-200(F) was positioned from San Bernardino to Panamá City Tocumen International via Tucson International on April 16.
It joins Uniworld's only other aircraft, a near fifty-year-old DC-9-30(F), in service on cargo flights throughout Central and South America as well as the Caribbean.

According to its website, Uniworld intends to offer extensive coverage of Colombia, Venezuela, Guatemala, Nicaragua, as well as the Caribbean, from its Panamá City Tocumen International hub.

The carrier has thus far enlisted a former Stars Away Aviation (Cape Town International) DC-9 freighter, 5Y-DBH (msn 47384), for operations.
