Braathens Regional (DC, Trollhättan) has been announced as the new brand for Swedish regional carrier Golden Air (Sweden) (DC, Trollhättan). The new brand will be adopted from January 1, 2013 when Golden Air will also transfer commercial responsibility for its only own scheduled route from Trollhättan to Stockholm Bromma to sister company Sverigeflyg to fully concentrate on its ACMI and charter operations. Golden Air currently operates five ATR 72-500s, eleven Saab 2000s and a single Saab 340B. Its wet-lease customers include Höga Kusten Flyg (Örnsköldsvik) and SAS Scandinavian Airlines (SK, Copenhagen Kastrup) as well as Sverigeflyg, the parent company of virtual regional carriers Blekingeflyg (Ronneby), FlySmaland (Växjö), Gotlandsflyg (Visby), Kalmarflyg (Kalmar), Kullaflyg (Angelholm/Helsingborg) and Sundsvallsflyg (Sundsvall-Härnösand). Golden Air and Sverigeflyg are both controlled by Malmö Aviation (TF, Malmö) holding company Braathens Aviation which also explains the new brand choice for Golden Air.
