Aeroméxico (AM, México City International) will from October 1 offer a new Guadalajara-based operation dubbed "AeroMexico Contigo" (eng. 'AeroMexico With You') meant to stem rising competition from LCCs such as Volaris (Y4, México City International) and Interjet (AIJ, Toluca). According to AirlineRoute, the flights will operate with all economy configuration B737-800s using flight numbers in the range AM770 to 799. Thus far, the following routes out of Guadalajara have been announced: Tijuana via Culiacán, Fresno Yosemite, Los Angeles International, Mexicali, Ontario International, Sacramento International and Tijuana (direct). AeroMéxico already serves Fresno, Los Angeles, Ontario and Sacramento from Guadalajara, the domestic routes are new services with the exception of Guadalajara-Culiacán currently already served by Aerolitoral (Monterrey Mariano Escobedo) with E145s.
