HAC - Hokkaido Air System (NTH, Hakodate) will once again become a JAL Group subsidiary following reports that JAL - Japan Airlines (JL, Tokyo Haneda) is planning to increase its stake in HAC from 14.5% to "at least 51%." The move comes on the back of heavy Liberal Democratic Party pressure on JAL Group to reacquire HAC, which left the group at the end of fiscal year 2010 (March 2011) as part of the JAL's corporate restructuring. JAL plans to resume at least 10 domestic (local) routes in 2014 previously operated by HAC but subsequently cancelled due to the restructuring. JAL has recently started codesharing on some HAC services again such as Hakodate to Misawa and Sapporo Okadama.
