US Airways (Phoenix Sky Harbor) plans to leave Star Alliance on March 1, 2014 and join Oneworld in April, Industry publication, the Frequent Business Traveller, has reported. US Airways' merger partner American Airlines (AA, Dallas/Fort Worth) was a founding member of oneworld. Scott Kirby, who will serve as the COO of the combined airline, said that January 7, 2014 will be “a big day for us.” “We will become a single airline or at least take the first step of becoming a single airline” on that day.
