Alitalia (AZA, Rome Fiumicino) is mulling a future without a foreign partner carrier. According to a report in Italy's Il Sole 24 paper, the Italian flag carrier's private shareholders have made it known that they are willing to provide funding for the airline's EUR300million capital injection plan. Thus far, the plan has failed to win the approval of 24% shareholders Air France-KLM while various approaches to Russian, Gulf and Chinese carriers have also failed to garner any potential suitors.
