Aurora (HZ, Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk) will add an unspecified number of DHC-6 Twin Otters to its fleet parent Aeroflot (SU, Moscow Sheremetyevo) Director General and CEO, Vitaly Saveliev, has confirmed.
Speaking via his Twitter account, Saveliev said the turboprops would be used in serving the Russian Far East's more remote and inaccessible areas with DHC-8-400s to also be used.
Aurora currently operates four A319-100s, two B737-200Advs, two B737-500s, three DHC-8-200 and four DHC-8-300s to Iturup Island Burevestnik AFB, Harbin, Khabarovsk Novy, Okha, Petropavlovsk Yelizovo, Sapporo Chitose, Seoul Incheon, Shakhtersk, Vladivostok and Yuzhno-Kurilsk out of its Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk hub. It also has bases in Khabarovsk Novy and Vladivostok from where it operates under Aeroflot flight numbers.
