Cargolux (CV, Luxembourg) has delayed the launch of scheduled services to Zhengzhou, China, from April 24, 2014 to May 29, 2014, to allow the airline to finalize all outstanding Chinese regulatory requirements.

The Luxembourger freight specialist says the delays arose due to "unforeseen procedural changes in the manner in which information has to be submitted to and approved by the relevant aviation authorities in China."

In late 2013, the Luxembourg government sold its 35% stake in the Cargolux group to the Henan Civil Aviation Development & Investment Company (HNCA) for USD231million. The investment calls for a 4x weekly service between Luxembourg and Zhengzhou, which is set to become Cargolux's second operational hub.

Following the successful conclusion of all share purchase and capital increase transactions, representatives of the Henan provincial government, the Luxembourg government, HNCA, and Cargolux held talks in Zhengzhou this week to map out their future plans which include a Commercial Cooperation Agreement between HNCA and Cargolux.
