Silver Airways (Fort Lauderdale International) will conclude its Beech 1900D operations when it phases out its Cleveland Hopkins hub with effect from October 31. The carrier currently operates five of the turboprops on behalf of United Airlines (UA, Chicago O'Hare) on flights to Bradford, DuBois, Franklin Venango Regional, Jamestown Chautauqua County, and Parkersburg.
Earlier this year, the airline said the decision to pull out of Cleveland was as a result of United's decision to wind-down down and de-hub its own Cleveland Hopkins International Airport operations.
With the departure of the Beechcraft, Silver will operate a fleet of twenty-seven Saab 340Bs.
In related news, Silver will also move five of its Washington Dulles routes from United's "UA" flight code to its "3M" flight code as of October 1. It currently operates from Dulles to Altoona, Beckley, Clarksburg, Johnstown John Murtha Cambria County, Lewisburg Greenbrier Valley, Morgantown and Staunton under United flight numbers. Based on current schedule data, only Altoona and Beckley will continue to be served with UA flights will its routes to Clarksburg, Johnstown, Lewisburg, Morgantown and Staunton will move to its own 3M flight numbers.
Silver will also start serving Du Bois and Parkersburg from Dulles instead of Cleveland with Saab 340Bs.
