Qatar Airways (QR, Doha Hamad International) has been confirmed as the A320neo's launch customer by Airbus (AIB, Toulouse Blagnac). Following the type's first flight last week in Toulouse Blagnac, the European manufacturer confirmed the Qataris would be taking delivery of their first of 80 jets in the last quarter of next year.
The A320neo is offered with either Pratt & Whitney’s PurePower PW1100G-JM engines or CFM International’s LEAP-1As and also incorporates sharklet technology. Thus far, the type has garnered more than 3'000 firm orders from 60 customers since its launch.
