VECA Airlines (San Salvador International) commenced operations on Friday, November 28, with charter flights from San Salvador International to San José Juan Santamaría and onwards to Panamá City Tocumen International. Additional charter services have been scheduled for December 1,5 and 8.

The flights are on-board a pair of A319-100s - N1821V (cn 2383) and N1235V (cn 2718) - operated by Air Panama (7P, Panamá City Paitilla) as Veca has yet to secure the requisite permits to use its own metal on the route.

According to Álvaro Vargas, the managing director of the Costa Rican civil aviation authority (Dirección General de Aeronáutica Civil - DGAC), Veca has applied to use its own aircraft on the routes with effect from February 15, 2015.

Veca is expected to change its name to Vuela Airlines (San Salvador International) in due course.
