FlyPelican (FP, Newcastle Williamtown) has announced plans to start scheduled services. Currently using a fleet of two Jetstream 32 (VH-OTD and VH-OTE) on charter services, the airline wants to use both aircraft on scheduled flights between Newcastle Williamtown and Canberra. The route has been left unserved since Brindabella Airlines (Canberra) ceased operations in December 2013.

The carrier plans to launch flights on April 27 and to initially offer up to two daily frequencies per day. Bookings are scheduled to start from March 15. The launch is subject to regulatory approval as FlyPelican's current AOC does not allow regular public transport (RPT). According to the airline's chief executive Paul Graham, FlyPelican is already working with the authorities in order to receive the permission.
