Taron-Avia (Erebuni) is planning to deploy its fleet of three B737-500s on scheduled flights to Russia later this quarter airline chairman Garnik Papikyan has told ATO news in an interview.

Papikyan says he sees strong potential in the Armenia-Russia market.

"We will be based in Yerevan," he said. "From the Armenian capital, we mainly want to fly to Moscow, St. Petersburg, Nizhny Novgorod Strigino, Rostov Platov, Krasnodar, Sochi, Volgograd, Voronezh Chertovitskoye and others."

Presently, the start-up's B737 fleet is undergoing C-Checks and repainting in Jordan ahead of a planned September launch.

According to its website, Taron-Avia also operates five freighters - one Il-76TD and four An-12BPs.
