Bombardier Aerospace (BBA, Montréal Trudeau) and Air Inuit (3H, Kuujjuaq) have announced that they are jointly working on a passenger to freighter conversion programme for the Dash 8-300 turboprop aircraft.

Air Inuit currently operates 11 Dash 8-300 aircraft, two of which are already operating in an all cargo configuration but without a large cargo door that the new programme will provide. It is planning to convert three Q300 aircraft to large cargo door freighters as part of the transaction announced with Bombardier.

Besides its Dash 8-300 freighters, the Canadian regional carrier also operates BAe 748 and DHC-6 aircraft in cargo configuration.
