First Air (Carp) has wet-leased a Lockheed Hercules L-382 from US carrier Lynden Air Cargo (L2, Anchorage Ted Stevens) to cover its flights from Yellowknife to the diamond mining towns of Diavik and Ekati in Canada's Northwest Territories.

According to a Canadian Transportation Agency (CTA) disclosure, the contract runs from October 9 to November 30, 2016, and is limited to a total of forty rotations.

It is recalled that in April of last year, Lynden Air Cargo took ownership of First Air’s sole remaining Hercules. As part of the agreement, Lynden pledged to avail it to the Canadian carrier on an ad-hoc charter basis.
