Far Eastern Air Transport (Taipei Sung Shan) has announced it has signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) with Nordic Aviation Capital for the lease of four ATR72-600s.

A statement to The China Post says the ATR - Avions de Transport Régional turboprops, FEAT's first such aircraft, will be delivered during the course of the current year.

FEAT is currently an all-McDonnell Douglas operation employing five MD-82s and three MD-83s on flights to sixteen destinations throughout Taiwan as well as China, Macau, and Japan.

As recently reported, FEAT was a major benefactor in the Taiwanese Civil Aviation Administration's apportionment of defunct carrier TransAsia Airways' route authorities. FEAT was awarded rights to Taipei Sung Shan-Fuzhou (3x weekly); Kaohsiung-Fuzhou (2x weekly); Taipei Taoyuan-Zhijiang (5x weekly); Kaohsiung-Xiamen (2x weekly); Taichung-Xiamen (2x weekly); Taipei Taoyuan-Xuzhou (3x weekly); Kaohsiung-Xuzhou (2x weekly); Taipei Sung Shan-Hefei (1x weekly); and Kaohsiung-Hefei (1x weekly).
