Royal Wings (JO, Amman Marka) has ventured into the scheduled services sector with the launch of regular passenger flights out of the Jordanian Red Sea resort town of Aqaba.

Having already commenced flights to Beirut earlier this year, the charter specialist has now announced the launch of a 2x weekly return service to Cairo Int'l beginning April 21.

"Along with serving the tourists and merchants of the two countries, this flight will serve thousands of Egyptian workers in Aqaba," it said. "It will also facilitate trips from Egypt to Jordan for those interested in religious tourism who desire to visit the Baptism site and other Christian sites in the kingdom."

Operated in conjunction with the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA), the routes are part of Royal Wings’ attempt to strengthen Aqaba’s position on the commercial and international tourism map.

Founded in 1995, Royal Wings operates a single A320-200 which it leases from parent, Royal Jordanian (RJ, Amman Queen Alia).
