Aigle Azur (Paris Orly) has announced plans to start flights to Germany and Russia later this year marking an abrupt change in the French carrier's network development strategy.

Having relied primarily on the Portuguese, Algerian and West African markets, Aigle Azur has now announced the start of 4x weekly return flights from Paris Orly to Berlin Tegel, Germany, alongside a 2x weekly Moscow Domodedovo route, both effective December 1.

Airline CEO Frantz Yvelin said in a statement the decision to launch the routes was as result of customer demand with further developments to be unveiled during the 2018 Summer season. Aigle Azur previously served Moscow until 2014 from both Paris Orly and Nice but used Moscow Vnukovo instead of Moscow Domodedovo as it plans to do now.
