Singapore Airlines (SQ, Singapore Changi) has taken delivery of its first B787-10 thereby becoming the type's launch operator. 9V-SCB (msn 60254) was handed over to the Singaporean carrier following a ceremony at the Boeing facility at Charleston International on Sunday, March 25.

ch-aviation analysis of schedule data shows the aircraft is due to enter revenue service on April 3 on crew-training flights from Singapore Changi to each of Bangkok Suvarnabhumi and Kuala Lumpur International. These will then be followed by scheduled flights to Osaka Kansai on May 3, and Perth International on May 7.

Singapore Airlines has configured its B787-10s with 337 seats; 36 in Business Class and 301 in Economy Class.
