Delta Air Lines (DL, Atlanta Hartsfield Jackson) will take delivery of a handful of A220-100 aircraft during the fourth quarter of 2018 with their entry into service planned for the first quarter of 2019, CEO Ed Bastian has said during a first-quarter investor call.

"Our plan is to take the first CSeries by the end of the year and probably induct it into the service at the start of 2019," he said.

Previously, Delta's maiden CS100 was tentatively scheduled for delivery in spring 2018.

The American carrier currently has seventy-five of the Bombardier jets on order, the largest individual contract for the type.

According to the ch-aviation fleet module, only three airlines globally have taken deliveries of CSeries aircraft since the type entered commercial service in late 2016. airBaltic currently operates eight A220-300s, Korean Air - four CS300s, and Swiss - eight CS100s and nine CS300s.
