Primera Air Scandinavia (Billund) has announced it will add Brussels National, Belgium to its transatlantic network beginning Summer 2019.

The Scandinavian leisure specialist will base two B737-9s out of the Belgian capital gateway for use in serving each of New York Newark (daily, effective May 9, 2019), Boston (4x weekly effective June 2, 2019), and Washington Dulles (3x weekly effective June 2, 2019).

“Our mission is to make expensive transatlantic travel a thing of the past and we are glad to bring low fare, long-haul flights to Brussels," Anastasija Visnakova, Chief Commercial Officer of Primera Air, said in a statement. "It will give an opportunity for local travellers to fly to the US and Canada in a more affordable way as well as bring more North American travellers to Brussels.”

Following the termination of transatlantic flights out of Birmingham, GB, Primera Air current serves North America from London Stansted (Boston, Newark, Washington Dulles, and Toronto Pearson) and Paris CDG (Boston, Newark, Toronto Pearson, and Montréal Trudeau). Service is currently on-board the carrier's fleet of five A321neo.

Primera Air is expecting twenty B737 MAX 9s from Boeing (BOE, Washington National). It is also tentatively due to take delivery of its first two A321neo(LR)s from AerCap during the final quarter of this year.
