Binter Canarias (NT, Gran Canaria) has firmed up purchase rights for two E195-E2s that were included in an agreement signed with Embraer in 2018.

According to an announcement made during the 2019 Paris Air Show at Paris Le Bourget, the new order will be incorporated into the Brazilian manufacturer's 2Q19 backlog.

The Canary Islands-based carrier now has five E195-E2s on order of which the first is due during the second semester of 2019. It will feature 132 seats in a single class configuration.

Binter's vice president, Rodolfo Núñez, added that the E195-E2's type certification is currently going according to schedule.

Binter currently operates seven in-house ATR72-500s alongside twelve ATR72-600s (wet-leased from subsidiary Canair) and three CRJ1000s (wet-leased from Medavia).
