Geneva, Switzerland-based Sparfell Aviation Group has acquired LaudaMotion Executive (Vienna) from Lauda (Vienna) and is now set to take control of the Austrian business charter specialist's management.

Sparfell Aviation Group was initially in talks with Niki Lauda, the former owner of LaudaMotion Executive, regarding a capital injection. However, in the wake of Lauda's death in late May, the Swiss group decided to pursue an outright buyout of the carrier.

Edward Queffelec, CEO of Sparfell Airways, will head LaudaMotion Executive. The carrier's employees and fleet will be retained. Sparfell Airways is a newly established unit tasked with the takeover of LaudaMotion Executive.

LaudaMotion Executive currently operates thirteen business jets, primarily manufactured by Bombardier Business Aircraft (Montréal Trudeau). The carrier also provides aircraft management services.

Sparfell Aviation Group includes Sparfell Airways, Sparfell & Partners (aircraft acquisitions), Sparfell Leasing, Sparfell Design, and Sparfell Defence.
