Iran Aseman Airlines (EP, Tehran Mehrabad) has acquired a first ex-Virgin Atlantic (VS, London Heathrow) A340-300 through a deal involving a Bangladeshi paper airline called Rajshahi Air. It had originally planned to acquire a second ex-Virgin Atlantic A340-300 in the same fashion but this transaction has fallen through after it has become public that Rajshahi Air only was set-up for the purpose of exporting aircraft to Iran bypassing the embargo currently in place.
