Avmax Holdings took delivery of two new-built DHC-6-400s from Viking Air (VKN, Victoria International) on November 26, 2019, with a plan to deploy the aircraft in Chad.

The Canadian holding said in a press release that the new aircraft, msn 978 and 981, will be operated on behalf of China National Petroleum Company International (CNPC) in Chad, flying personnel between N'Djamena and the company's bases in the south of the country. At the end of November, the aircraft will be ferried to Chad, where they will be deployed into service on January 1, 2020.

"This multi-million-dollar deal is an excellent example of two Western Canadian companies reaching globally to strengthen aviation. This deal was possible due to Avmax's strong collaborative relationships with companies both local and worldwide, including China and Chad," Avmax Chief Executive Mark Maydaniuk said.

Avmax Chad (N'Djamena) currently operates two DHC-6-300s and is in the process of adding a Dash 8-200.

Avmax Aircraft Leasing has extensive expertise in leasing and managing small aircraft. According to the ch-aviation fleets module, the lessor owns thirty-four Dash 8-100s, twenty -200s, six Dash 8-300s, and three Dash 8-400s, four DHC-6-300s, twenty-one CRJ100ERs, twenty-three CRJ200LRs, as well as 46 other aircraft.
