Longtail Aviation (6T, Bermuda) has acquired its first B757-200(PCF), a former ATI - Air Transport International (8C, Wilmington Air Park) aircraft registered as N531UA (msn 25042). The Boeing was ferried from storage at Hagerstown to Miami International on October 12 where it was handed over to Longtail.

In July, ch-aviation reported that Longtail Aviation expected to add a B757 "within the next few months" as well as acquiring a B767F by the end of the year. The charter freight airline, once a prominent B747F operator, recently returned the last of that aircraft type to its owner.

According to CargoFacts, the B757-200PCF is already added to Bermudan and US operations specifications. Longtail Aviation was set up in 2003 at Bermuda’s L.F. Wade International Airport and does business as an aircraft management company and charter carrier. It operates its commercial air transport operations under Part 121 of the Overseas Territories Aviation Requirements. According to the ch-aviation fleets module, with the B747s gone, the incoming B757-200PCF will be Longtail's only aircraft until the B767 arrives.

The 31.56 year old B757 which first flew for United Airlines (UA, Chicago O'Hare) in 1991 before going to Capital Cargo International Airlines (Orlando International) in 2009 ahead of that airline's merger with ATI - Air Transport International, N531UA is being re-registered as VP-BCX in Bermuda's aircraft registry.
