Sylt Air (7E, Westerland) will add non-stop flights between Westerland on Germany's touristic North Sea island of Sylt to Dortmund this summer with a new nine-seater Cessna (twin turboprop) Grand Caravan, the airline announced on its website.

Flights will run from June 23 to September 3, twice weekly on Mondays and Fridays, complementing Sylt Air's existing service between Sylt and Hamburg Helmut Schmidt.

The airline also announced it would resume regular scheduled services on April 6, 2023, following the winter break.

Founded in 1963 as Friesenflug, the airline changed its name to Sylt Air in 2001 following its acquisition by Aeroline-GmbH. The merger was legally completed in 2008.

Sylt Air operates summer seasonal scheduled flights between Sylt and Hamburg, plus scenic flights around Sylt and the Frisian Islands as well as other charter operations.

Other airlines serving Sylt include Eurowings, Lufthansa, and Swiss, according to the ch-aviation capacities module.
