germanwings (4U, Cologne/Bonn) has now confirmed earlier rumours that it would plan to move its base in Berlin from Berlin Schönefeld to Berlin Tegel from October 28, 2012 after a delay to the opening of Berlin Brandenburg to October 27, 2013 has been announced. The new airport was originally scheduled to be opened in early June of 2012. germanwings currently has two A319-100s based in Schönefeld and as part of the move its routes to Maastricht and Munich will be dropped with just one remaining A319-100 based in Tegel serving Cologne/Bonn and Pristina. Tegel will also continue to be served from Stuttgart.
