MODERN Logistics (WD, São Paulo Viracopos) has reached an agreement with BBAM to add its first B737-800(BCF) later this month.

2-BPDK (msn 33566) remains under final pre-delivery maintenance at Haikou. Modern Logistics expects the delivery to São Paulo Viracopos after August 16, but a final date has not been announced yet.

"The additional capacity and efficiency of the new aircraft will assure the future success of the company by better responding to the needs and requirements of our clients," CEO Cristiano Koga said.

The aircraft is the first of two -800(BCF)s Modern Logistics plans to source. The delivery of the second unit is tentatively expected in the first quarter of 2024. To facilitate the transition, the airline extended the lease of B737-300(F) PP-YBC (msn 24219) from Automatic Leasing.

Modern Logistics' current fleet comprises two B737-300(F)s and one B737-400(SF). The airline expects to operate a mixed Classic and NG fleet during the transition period. It is evaluating adding more -800 converted freighters.
