China Eastern Airlines (MU, Shanghai Hongqiao) has placed an order with Airbus (AIB, Toulouse Blagnac) for 60 additional A320-200s with deliveries scheduled between 2014 and 2017. China Eastern already is the world's largest A320-200 operator and currently operates 131 A320-200s with another 46 A320-200s already on order. The new aircraft will be used for expansion and to replace older A320 and B737 family aircraft in China Eastern's fleet. Airbus will also purchase five CRJ200s and ten E145s from China Eastern as part of the deal that the carrier no longer wants to operate.
