Vision Airlines (United States of America) (Las Vegas Harry Reid) has been fined by the US Department of Transportation for not operating flights on behalf of public charter carrier Direct Air (Myrtle Beach International) back in March when Direct Air had run out of funds and been forced to suspend operations. According to US legislation, the operators of such public charter flights are not allowed to cancel flights less than 10 days before scheduled departure and need to have security arrangements with the charterer to ensure they are paid for these flights. Vision just like World Atlantic Airlines (WL, Miami International) and XTRA Airways (Fort Lauderdale International) had just immediately cancelled all Direct Air flights leaving customers stranded violating these rules. The two other carriers had been fined by the DOT earlier already.
