Agni Air (Kathmandu) has been forced to suspend operations with its fleet of three Jetstream 41s and two Do228s in mid-November after temporarily losing its operating certificate. The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal has taken the measure because of its fuel, landing and parking fee debts. A consortium of lenders including Grand Bank, Sunrise Bank and aircraft lessor ILFC have now asked Agni Air owner Sudhir Basnet to either pay back the carrier's loans or to face foreclosure according to a report by the Kathmandu Post. Talks have reportedly already been held with Yeti Airlines (YT, Kathmandu) and other interested investors that would be interested in the airline itself or its assets.
