The Vanuatu-based Pacific Aviation Safety Office and Tonga's Civil Aviation Division have reinstated the certificate of airworthiness attached to a Y12 at Lulutai Airlines (L8, Tongatapu), allowing the carrier to resume operating the aircraft.
Due to non-compliance issues, the Y12 went out of service on December 17, 2024, but ADS-B Flightradar24 tracking data shows that A3-SPV (msn 32) resumed flying between Tongatapu and Vava'u on May 6.
Its reentry into service brings the number of operational aircraft in Lulutai's fleet to three. The airline is also flying a DHC-6-400 plus a Saab 340B damp leased from Air Chathams.
