GlobalX (G6, Miami International) is moving towards its first aircraft acquisitions in line with a previously announced strategy, president and chief financial officer Ryan Goepel said during an investor call. The airline also aims to grow its A319-100 fleet as it progresses towards the goal of around 35 aircraft in the fleet by the end of 2027.

Goepel said that the airline's only A319, N285GX (msn 1936), will be returned to the lessor (Setna iO according to the ch-aviation Commercial Aviation Aircraft Ownership Data module) in June or July 2025. To replace the aircraft, GlobalX will take four other A319s by the end of 2025, with the first of these scheduled for delivery in August.

The A319s "get us to 22-23 [aircraft by the end of 2025]. Going forward, our goal is to add four to six aircraft a year. And I think that will get us close to the 35 by the end of 2027. And we’re primarily targeting passenger [aircraft]," Goepel said.

The ch-aviation Commercial Aviation Aircraft Data module shows that the airline currently also operates ten A320-200s, four A321-200s, two A321-200(P2F)s, and two A321-200(PCF)s for a combined total of 19 aircraft in the fleet. Currently, they are all leased, but GlobalX is exploring opportunities "to incorporate a more balanced mix of ownership and leasing."

"We are exploring scenarios where we would require an airframe and lease the engines or purchase the entire aircraft outright if the terms are right. Leasing has been a highly effective growth driver for GlobalX and has enabled us to scale our fleet rapidly, preserve capital, and maintain flexibility as we establish our leading charter platform. Leasing will continue to serve as a critical tool in our fleet strategy moving forward," Goepel said, while adding that aircraft ownership would provide long-term savings and inoculate the airline against volatile lease rates.
