Surjet (Fort Lauderdale Executive) has phased out the only G550 from its Part 135-certified fleet, ch-aviation research shows.
The 16.3-year-old aircraft, N888HK (msn 5213), is configured for up to 18 passengers. It had been listed on Surjet's Part 135 certificate since July 2024 operating primarily out of Florida.
Following this retirement, Surjet's charter fleet continues to include other Gulfstream Aerospace jets, namely a G280 and a GV, alongside two Learjet 45s, a Learjet 45(XR), and a Challenger 300, which was added in April 2025.
Alongside the phase-out of the G550, Surjet is expanding the charter fleet with the planned addition of a Global 5000 and a Legacy 600, marking the company's entry into charter operations with both Global-series aircraft and Embraer Executive Jets, as confirmed to ch-aviation by Surjet's president, Peter Hosmann.
The phased-out G550, now based at Lynchburg Regional, is listed on the Part 135 certificate of Prime Jet, joining two other units of the type. The company's charter fleet exclusively comprises Gulfstream aircraft, including a GIV, five GIV-SPs, a G450, and four GVs. Prime Jet is in the process of adding a G650ER and two additional GIV-SPs to the Part 135 fleet.
