SPARFELL Luftfahrt (LDX, Vienna) has taken delivery of a brand-new Challenger 3500, resuming operations with the type after a six-month hiatus, ch-aviation research shows. This is the second of three aircraft in a fleet expansion plan that SPARFELL's managing director, Bernhard Wipfler, disclosed to ch-aviation in late 2024, following the induction of a factory-new GVII-G500 in March 2025.

The newly added Challenger 3500, OE-HSP (msn 21065), was delivered to Vienna between June 17 and 18 from Bombardier Business Aircraft's production facilities at Montréal Trudeau, with a stop at London Biggin Hill. SPARFELL had previously operated a 2024-build Challenger 3500 between June and December last year, while SPARFELL Malta also operated a Challenger 3500 between June 2023 and June 2024.

It joins two older variants of the type in SPARFELL's fleet, namely two Challenger 300s and three Challenger 350s. The company's fleet also comprises a Global Express XRS, two Global 7500s, a Citation Jet 2+, a Falcon 7X, a Legacy 500, a Praetor 600, a G280, the GVII-G500 added earlier in 2025, a G650(ER), and a G650ER. An ACJ319-100, currently undergoing refurbishment and maintenance at Basel/Mulhouse/Freiburg, CH, is expected to enter service by Summer 2025, according to Wipfler.

SPARFELL's expansion plan revealed earlier this year includes a third aircraft, an undisclosed Bombardier model likely to be registered in Malta, joining a Global 6000, a Global 6500, a Global 7500, and a GVII-G500 on the company's Maltese air operator's certificate (AOC).
